摘要

Abstract

We assessed the in vitro degradation of poly(dl-lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA)90L/10G, a biodegradable material. In vitro degradation characteristics were evaluated by measuring decrease in the mass loss of PLGA films and conducted at 37℃ in pH 7.4 phosphate buffered saline. The morphological changes of films surface during degradation were observed on a scanning electron microscopy.The viability of cells was determined by MTT method. PLGA90/10 was hydrophobic polymer and it showed surface erosion characteristics. High-molecular-weight PLGA degraded slowly in the 4 months of beginning; there was 10% mass loss in the 120th day and rapid mass loss after the 120th day. There was no difference on the cell viability between control group and PLGA group. Our study provides a basis for the development of a useful vehicle for locally administered drugs.
