摘要

Abstract

The zoobenthos collected from 16 sampling stations in lower reaches of Tan River and Huangmao Bay from Aug to Dec of 2003 were analyzed.Zoobenthos density in the 16 sampling stations ranged between 0-440 ind/m2, and the biomass ranged between 0-91.08 g/m2,the average density and biomass were 143.44 ind/m2 and 21.71 g/m2, respectively.The Shannon-Wiener diversity ranged between 0-1.61.Zoobenthos in the investigated area are lack of species, rich in density and low in diversity.Water quality of Lower reaches of Tan River and Huangmao Bay was estimated to be moderate or high polluted according to diversity index.However, high density of Mollusca indicated clearer water.Since zoobenthos diversity may be affected by physical character of the bottom, when zoobenthos diversity was used to assess water quality, species composition should also be considered.
