Comparison of the effects of propofol and isoflurane on intrapulmonary shunt and oxygenation during one - lung ventilation

Abstract
Objective To compare effects of propofol and isofiurane on intrapulmonary shunt and oxygenation during one - lung ventilation (OLV) .Methods 20 patients of ASA Ⅰ～Ⅱ undergoing thoracic operation were randomly divided into two groups with 10 patients propofol group (P group) and isofiurane group (I group). The anesthesia was maintained with infusion of 4～12 mg/(kg·h) propofol in group P, and with inhalation of 1.5 %～2 % isoflurane in group I. The arterial and right atrium blood were taken for blood gas analysis at the following time: TLV 15 min(t1), OLV 30 min (t2), OLV 60 min(t3), TLV 30 min(t4), and the Qs/Qt was calculated. Results Qs/Qt increased (P<0.05), while PaO2 and SaO2 decreased significantly (P<0.01) at t2 or ts compared with that at t1. There were no significant differences between the two groups at the same time points. Conclusion Propofol was not associated with a significant increase in intrapulmonary shunt during OLV comparison with isoflurane.关键词
