Abstract
Purpose To study the expression and significance of EBV latent gene products in malignant lymphoma. Methods Immunohistochemical staining for LMP-1 and EBNA2 was performed in 565 cases of non-Hodgkins lymphoma(NHL) and 64 Hodgkins lymphoma(HL). EBV was also detected in 101 cases of NHL by PCR.Results EBV-PCR positive rate was higher than that of LMP-1. LMP-1 expression was not found in EBV-PCR negative NHL. No staining for EBNA2 was detected in our series. LMP-1 expression was found in immunoblast cells and R-S cells and R-S-like cells，which also expressed CD30. Conclusions Expression of EBV latent gene products can reflect the differential degree of host cells and ability of immune surveillance. EBV may be related to the development of some R-S cells and R-S-like cells in malignant lymphomas.关键词
