Treatment of thoracolumbar fracture with internal fixation of pedicle screw system

Abstract
Objective To analyze curative effect and surgical treatment for pedicle screw in thoracolumbar fracture. Methods 35 patients were treated by 3 types of pedicle screw system. The patients were followed up for 2 years on average,ranging from 6 months to 4 years. Results Average height of front vertebra was corrected from 42% before operation to 93.5% after operation. The average height of back vertebra was restored to 98% after operation(94% before operation). The angle of kyphosis was corrected from 27.6° before operation to 5.2° after operation. The area of spinal canal was restored to 95% after operation(69% before operation).Nerve injuries were improved more than Ⅱ levels with Frankel's standard. Conclusion The internal fixation of pedicle screw is an effective treatment of the thoracolumbar fracture and spinal cord injuries.关键词
