Abstract
Objective To study estrogen receptor(ER) and estrogen receptor messenger RNA expression in gastric carcinoma and to investigate the relationship with gastric carcinoma biological behaviors.Methods The expression of ER and ERmRNA in gastric carcinoma were detected by in situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry.Results ①The positive rate of ER in male was 33.33% and in female was 46.67%;The positive rate of ERmRNA in male was 73.33% and in female was 86.67%;②The number of poor-differentiated adenocarcinoma and ring cell carcinoma was more than that of another histologic types in the ER positive cases;ERmRNA was expressed in tubular adenocarcinoma、poor-differentiated adenocarcinoma and ring cell carcinoma;③The ER positive was related to regional lymph nodes metastases and growth pattern;④The positive rate of ERmRNA was higher than that of ER.Conclusion ERmRNA expression is related to gastric carcinoma biological behaviors,and it might be used to predict the prognosis of gastric carcinoma,and it would provide beneficial evidence to endocrine therapy for gastric carcinoma.关键词
