Synthesis and Properties of LiInS2 Polycrystalline Materials

Abstract
The synthesis and some properties of high purity polycrystalline lithium thioindate are investigated. The lithium thioindate (LiInS2) crystal is an attractive material, which can be widely used for nonlinear optical frequency conversion in the infrared region. The Li-containing chalcogenides are, in general, difficult to prepare, because lithium attacks the quartz reactors and will be oxidized rapidly. Moreover, the high sulfur vapor pressure will result in the explosion of the quartz ampoule. In this paper, two different methods have been used to synthesize the LiInS2 polycrystalline materials. The yielded polycrystalline LiInS2 were characterized by X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetric.关键词
