Effects of fructooligosaccharides on theperformance, lipid metabolism, immune and endocrine function in laying quails

Abstract
Fifty 10-month-old laying qauaila were randomly allotted to two groups, which were fed with control diet and the diet plus 0.9% fructooligosaccharides (FOS), respectively. The results showed that FOS supplement improved egg laying performance. Cholesterol level in both serum ( P < 0.05) and egg yolk decreased. T-lymphocyte transformation rate ( P < 0. 05) and serum T3 level increased ( P < 0. 05). The results indicated that FOS could impact egg layingperformance, lipid metabolism, cellular immune function and serum T3 level.关键词
