On normalization of the image analysis of orthopaedical X-ray pictures

Abstract
Objective To study whether it can be d irectly compared that one of X-ray pictures taken in different period and exposur e conditions with one processed by histogram normalization. Methods The basic principle and procedure of picture normalization was analyze d in detail. Results The grey level and pseudo colour of X- ray pictures processed by histogram normalization showed a large amount o f variation. Conclusion The grey distribution is different b etween original pictures and processed ones. Comparing these pictures is not authentic. Correct methods should be researched to compare different pictures.关键词
