Abstract
It is a reviews on the diagnosis ,active immunization and vaccination failure factors of canine distemper (CD),as well as host range of canine distemper virus (CDV).CDV infection has occurred not only in terrestrial but also in aquatic carnivores,and its host range has been developing.Diagnosi s of CD based on methods of virus isolation,identification of specific antigen o r nucleic acid of CDV ,was mainly introduced in this paper.CDV vaccines mainly in clude inactivated CDV vaccine,heterothpic measles vaccine and live attenuated va ccine.Immune response in dogs after vaccine inoculated are greatly dependent on virus strains used and on the host response to infection,only live attenuated vaccine can induce long-lasting immunity and completely protect animals against virulent CDV challenge.Although the CD has been controlled for many years using live attenuated vaccines,recently however,many cases of vaccinated dogs showed typical clinical signs of CDV infection.The causes of vaccine failure were discuss ed,which includes the persistence of maternal antibodies,quality of vaccine,the immunosuppressive effect of parvovirus and variation of CDV.关键词
