摘要

Abstract

For many years, grammar- translation method has been a dominant teaching approach for intensive reading class in China. With the rapid development of economy in the past two decades, there is an urgent need for people in different professions to communicate with people from an English - speaking country. Under such a circumstance, a question arises, to which needs a prompt response. Does grammar teaching still play a part in language teaching and learning or should we get rid of it to search for another teaching approach? In this article, the author tries to answer this question through specific analysis.
