Alluvial fans and debris hazards in the Northern and Middle Part of the Longitudinal Valley of Eastern Taiwan
摘要
Abstract
The present study is aimed at establishing the relation among the development stages of alluvial fans formed along the Longitudinal Valley of Eastern Taiwan,and their human activities and flood and debris hazards.The study is based on an adequate classification of the alluvial fans concerned with the geographical location,geomorphological processes and development stages as the criteria,whereby are effectively revealer the geographical differences in geomorphological processes and tectonic activities,and also the intensity of human activities and types of hazards.The results obtained from this study may benefit landuse planning and control of natural hazards in mountainous regions. It is also deduced from the geographical differences in the development stages of alluvial fans that the middle part of the longitudinal valley has been upwarped relative to its northern part.关键词
