摘要

Abstract

The performance of the polyimide (PI) fiber was investigated by low temperature glow discharge plasma in this paper. According to observe of scanning electron microscope (SEM), the surface roughness degree of PI fiber increase after treated by low temperature plasma. The experimental results show that under the treatment of different plasma conditions, the PI fiber surfaces appear the varying degree physics and chemical etching. It's found that the friction coefficient and hydrophilicity of PI fiber treated by low temperature plasma improve obviously. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) shows that the reason is the etching and the increase of the ratio O1s/C1s, on the surface of PI fiber. Variations of tensile breaking strength of PI with different parameters are analyzed.
