Abstract
Aim To investigate the relationship between the damage of cognitive capability of the patients with delayed encephalopathy after acute carbon monoxide poisoning and latencies as well as the amplitude of each component of event related potential (P300), moreover the frequency of occurrence of P300 and prognosis assessment.Methods Prior to the test,Mini - Mental State Examination(MMSE) and Blessed Behavior Scale were adopted in order to rate scores in 20 patients.The " detachment stimulation" being used as the " target" stimulation,and passive tasks as well as auditory " OB" sequence would elicit P3a element for the patients.Results The frequency of P300 occurrence was 55% ,and that of N2 occurrence was 70% .Comparing the patients with P300 occurrence with the normal control:the latencies of N2 and P3 were significantly prolonged, but there was no difference in the amplitude.Comparing the patients with absent P300 with the normal subjects:the latencies N1 and P2 were prolonged.There was certain linear relationship between N2 latency and such coma.There was noticeable difference in the clinical Blessed Scale scores between the patients with present P300 or absent P300.In visiting cases, when there was P300, there was improvement in clinical symptoms.Conclusion P300 may become an objective criterion testing the damage of cognitive capability of the patients suffering from the delayed encephalopathy after acute carbon monoxide poisoning. 关键词
