Abstract
Sweetpotato weevil is one of the important pests in Fujiansweetpotato-producing areas.The traping results showed that there were 5 peak periods of sweetpotato weevil per year in Fuzhou area，i.e.：the second ten days of April；the first ten days of July；the second ten days of August；the last ten days of September；the last ten days of October. The sex pheromone had strong trapping activity to male sweetpotato weevil，long effective period last for 110 days and long trapping distance as 15 meters.The trap with rubber stopper lure and 2% washing powder solution in 1.25 L cola plastic bottle, showed best trapping effects.After trapping for one year, the number of males sweetpotato weevil was reduced by 55.4% and 57.7% in Putian and Huian, respectively, showing 69.5% and 72.6% in controlling effectiveness. The sex pheromone gives a simple, safety and effective mean to control sweetpotato weevil.关键词
