Abstract
The experiment was conducted to demonstrate the characteristics of grain-filling, dry matter production and panicle neck anatomy as well as their relationship with the yield of new plant type (NPT) rice at experimental station of former Fujian Agricultural University in the late seasons of 1997 and 1998. The result indicated that NPT rice under research had the disadvantages of bad grain filling and lower yield. The grain yield ofNPT rice was lower than that of controls due to the hindrance of the flow of assimilate from source to sink, attributed to the small panicle neck, less vascular bundles and lower physiological activity adenosine-5'-triphosphatase (ATPase) activity, in turn leading to lower grain filling rate in the weak potential grains and dry matteraccumulation with two peaks.关键词
