摘要

Abstract

Sapphires from Mingxi were investigated by such means as chromatic measurement, EPR, IR and TGA-DTA. It has a dark color mixed with yellow color and strong dichroism. The spectra obtained show that Fe3+ is the main form of the Fe atoms, d_d leap of Fe3+ and charge transfer are the main factors causing the formation of colors. The content of H is an important factor in the formation of blue color.
