Study on Nutritional Physiology of Spirulina p latensis I: Absorption and Utilization of Inorganic Carbon

摘要

Abstract

It is necessary to add inorganic carbon in the medium for photosynthetic algae. Spirulina platensis is used to high pH value envir onment, the study on its metabolism has specific meaning. In the present paper, a study on absorption and utilization of inorganic carbon of Spirulina platens is and the relationship between the concentration of inorganic carbon and its growth was carried out. The results show that the concentration of 50~100mmol/dm 3 of sodium bicarbonate could not only satisfy the growth of the alga, but als o help to maintain suitable pH value.
