Conbined transfrontal and intranasal endoscopic repair of frontal sinus cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea

Abstract
Objective To evaluate a new technique to treat frontal sinus cerebrospinal fluid Rhinorrhea (FSCFR). Methods Seven patients of FSCFR, aged 13 to 44, were taken into the research. Five of them underwent the combined transfrontal and intranasal endoscopic management; the remaining two got a simple endoscopic repair. Results Four paitients had their CSF leak sealed successfully with just one operation; two patients underwent two, and another one three. Surgical repair was 100% successful in leak cessation with a mean follow-up of 3 years. The patients treated with the new technique recovered much more rapidly than those treated with simple methods. Conclusion The combined approach of transfrontal and intranasal endoscopic repair might be a prefered method with better results and less complications.关键词
