摘要

Abstract

In this paper, the wave simulation method in which the explicit finite element is combined with artificial transmitting boundary and the dynamic contact force model are used to study the requirement on the amount, the position and the distance of the joints to be considered in the seismic analysis of high arch dam. The conclusions are drawn that the stress distribution of the dam can be simulated by a few number of joints, but the openness of the joints will be evidently influenced by the distance of the joints, so it is necessary to consider the actual distance to simulate the opening and closing of the joints exactly. The top of arch crown and the dam abutments are the dangerous positions to occur a maximum opening.
