Removal of Basic Nitrogen Compounds From Etherification Feed by Extraction

Abstract

The etherification process of FCC light gasoline meets therequirem ent of producing clean gasoline, while the basic nitrogen compounds can deactiva te the etherification catalyst-sulfonic acid resin. A process for the removal of basic nitrogen compounds from light gasoline by extraction is studied. The ef fects of extraction conditions on the removal of basic nitrogen compounds are in vestigated. The experimental results indicate that the temperature has little ef fect on the removal rate of basic nitrogen compounds at the temperature of 20 ~ 40 ℃; the removal rate increases with the increase of the water/oil ratio, the s ubsidence time and the frequency of water extraction. Under the conditions, such as a room temperature, a water/oil ratio of 0.05, the liberation time of 20 m inutes and subsidence time of 15 minutes, twice water extraction and once deion ized water extraction, the removal rate of basic nitrogen compounds is more than 87% and the yield of light gasoline approaches 100%, which meet the requireme nt of etherification catalyst on the etherification feeds. Water extraction is an economical and effective method that is applied to remove basic nitrogen comp ounds in FCC light gasoline.
