Turbulence modeling validation in hypersonic complex flows

Abstract
The primary objective of this work is to provide accurate numerical solutions for selected flow fields and to compare and evaluate the performance of selected turbulence models with experimental results. Seven popular turbulence models have been tested and validated against experimental data of five turbulent flows. The models are: (1) the two-equation k-ε model of Chien, (2) the two-equation k-ε model of Jones and Launder, (3) the two-equation k-ω model of Wilcox, (4) the two-equation k-ω/k-ε SST model of Menter, (5) the two-equation k-ε model of CMOTT, (6) the two-equation k-ε model of Shih, and the zero-equation model of Baldwin-Lomax. The flows investigated are five hypersonic complex flows consisting of two cases of a 2-D compression corner, an ogive-cylinder-flare flow, an oblique shock wave/turbulent boundary-layer interaction.关键词
