Abstract

In order to establish a fast and simple assay of detecting cadmium residue, a direct competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (DC-ELISA) based on a cadmium-specific monoclonal antibody and enzyme labeled antigen was developed. The DC-ELISA was capable of detecting cadmium ion as low as 0.20 μg/L and the IC50 of DC-ELISA was 3.01 μg/L. The cross reactivity exhibited by the tested metal-chelates was < 1.6 %. The overall coefficient of variations of DC-ELISA was 6.67 %~9.09 %. The coefficient correlation of results between DC-ELISA and GFAAS was 0.988. The results indicated DC-ELISA could detect cadmium residue in red-banded mantis shrimp with high sensitivity and accuracy.
