磁尾等离子体片对流对亚暴的影响
THE EFFECT OF PLASMA SHEET FAST FLOWS ON SUBSTORMS

Abstract
In this investigation, using a two-dimensional particle code, we haveexplored the influence of the fast flows in plasma sheet on thetriggering of substorms. We have found that, the local speedy flows inplasma sheet could trigger the magnetic reconnection process and causethe fast release of magnetic energy stored in magnetotail. However,continuing, stable and homogeneous fast convections in plasma sheet maydepress the magnetic reconnection processes in magnetotail. The resultsobtained in this study indicate that the local Bursty Bulk Flows (BBFs)can lead to the onsets of magnetospheric substorms; nevertheless, whenthe IMF keeps southward for a long time, there may be no substorm onset,which has been called Steady Magnetospheric Convection processes.关键词
