摘要
Abstract
Objective To study the effect of antiepileptic drugs(AEDs )therapy on serum prolactin (PRL) levels and the relationship between AEDs and reproductive endocrine disorders(REDs ) in women with epilepsy. Methods We measured serum PRL levels in 48 female patients, and monitored the blood concentration of AEDs in order to know the state of reproductive endocrine functions. Results (1)The serum PRL levels in women received phenytoin (PHT) were significantly higher than the controls, and there was positive relationship between serum PRL and PHT levels( P＜0.05); (2) The rate of REDs in women with epilepy was significantly higher than the controls(P＜0.01),and the PRL levels were changed in a part of women with REDs. Conclusion (1) High PHT serum levels had significant effect on PRL levels in women with epilepsy; (2) A high occurence of REDs might be caused dy a neurotransmitter dysfunction and a part of increase in PRL levels.关键词
