Abstract
The Computer simulation for the effect of overburden depth on stress distribution around tunnels and interaction between tunnels is presented. A three dimensional (3D) finite element method has been used for the analysis of one and two tunnels at different overburden depths with different distances of separation between tunnels. The numerical analysis results show the variations of stress distribution and stress concentration at the boundary of tunnels with the overburden depths increasing. It is found that there is a critical distance between two tunnels, if the separation distances are more than that, the interaction of the two tunnels disappears.关键词
