摘要

Abstract

This paper reviews the modeling of flexible AC transmission system (FACTS)controllers in power flow and optimal power flow calculations. The review covers not only single converter FACTS controllers such as static synchronous shunt compensator (STATCOM), static synchronous series compensator (SSSC), but also multiconverter FACTS controllers such as unified power flow controller (UPFC), interline power flow controller (IPFC), generalized unified power flow controller (GUPFC) and voltage source converter based HVDC(VSC HVDC). The review also discusses both single phase and three-phase modeling of FACTS. Handling of practical constraints of multi-converter FACTS is in particular presented.
