羊驼毛的结构及其特性研究
A Study on the Structure and Characteristics of the Alpaca(Lama pacos) Fibre

Abstract
To study the characteristics of alpaca fibre and further to assess the production performance of the alpaca, we made microstructural and ultrastructural observation on alpaca skin and fibre. The results show that the specific characteristics of the alpaca skin and fibre are as follows: sebaceous glands are rare in skin, which make alpaca fibre easy to be washed; the follicles consist of primary follicles and more complex follicles, which defines that most of alpaca fibre fine; the percentage of medulla of the fibre is less than that of cortex, and the ratio of medulla to cortex of the white fibre is bigger than that of the colored fibre, which defines that alpaca fibre is lightweight and has the function of heat preservation; the white fibre is lighter than the colored fibre; the cortex cells have double-deck structure and there are five layers of cuticle cells with exocuticle and endocuticle around the cortex, which can protect the fibre from being damaged and melanin particles from losing. Thus, the natural colors can be sustained. The scales of alpaca fibre are arranged by the indentation and form striation, which make the alpaca fibre hydrophobic that defines the alpaca fibre is resistant to water. All those characteristics make alpaca fibre worthy in textile industry.关键词
