Abstract

Kanamycin-resistant Brassica napus cv.Xiangyou 13 were obtained by agrobac-terium tumefaciens-mediated genetic transformation at the highest frequency of 8.3% when cotyledonary petioles were immersed into the agrobacterium  suspension for  3~5 min and co-cultured for 60~72 h,  whereas by ovary-injecting genetic  transformation it was succecded at the highest frequency of  12.8%  when  0.5~1.5 μg of exogenous  DNA was injected into the middle of an ovary from 20th hour to 30th hour  after  pollination.Southern blotting analysis of the total DNA extracted from transgenic plants indicated that Bt insecticidal protein gene had been integrated into the genome of oilseed rape.Transgenic plants were obtained by agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated and ovary-injected at frequency of 1.18%,2.66% respectively. Ovary injection was practical and efficient for oilseed rape transformation.
