Abstract

The High Definition Induction Logging (HDIL) can not reflect the reservoir liquid character correctly when reservoir resistivity is influenced by lithology and liquid character in complex formation. Analyzed are the HDIL curve's value, the difference between HDIL curves in different investigation depths, and the SP abnormal responses for liquid character, based on which a new method is put forward to evaluate reservoirs liquid character with HDIL data, resis-tivity data difference in different investigation depths, and SP responses. Total difference of resis-tivity curves are obtained from accumulation method for different radial investigation depths. Liquid character evaluation standard for deep investigation resistivity curves is normalized by using ratio method. Indication curves for salinity difference between stratum water and mud fil-trate are established. The fluid character synthesis evaluation index has been established as well. The applications of this method in 2 wells of Qikou depression show that the interpretation result is in accordance with the oil testing result. It is proved that this method is suitable for eval-uating sandshale porosity reservoir fluid character.
