Abstract

In order to study the atomization characteristics of air-assisted electrostatic spray field and its effect on pesticide target backside deposition, the spraying experiment was carried out by using a tomato fruit with a 80 mm diameter as the spraying target and preparing a Congo red solution with a concentration of 1g/L instead of pesticide. The atomization characteristics was tested and analyzed in various conditions using OLID measurement system. The target backside deposition effect was quantitatively analyzed with the Spectrophotometer. According to the test results, the relationship between atomization characteristics and droplet target backside deposition was analyzed. The experiment indicates that the uncharged droplets can hardly adhere to spraying target backside. Under the influences of aerodynamic force and electrostatic force, the higher the nozzle pressure and charging voltage are, the smaller the droplet diameter is. And its distributions are more symmetrical. The target backside deposition will increase with nozzle pressure and charging voltage, especially with the increasing of charging voltage. The smaller droplet diameter and more symmetrical distributions can improve pesticide target backside deposition effect.
