Abstract
AIM: To assess the effect of cordyceps on human mesangial cells(HMCs) that cultured in vitro, and discuss the underlying mechanism. METHODS: The effects of cordyceps militaris and condyceps sinensis on the proliferation of cultured HMCs caused by low density lipoprotein (LDL) were evaluated by 3H thymidine incorporation. RESULTS: The value of count per minute (cpm) in both cordyceps groups was significantly lower than LDL control group (P＜0.01). While applying the same concentration of medicine, there was no significant difference between 2 cordyceps groups (P＞0.05). CONCLUSION: Corydceps strongly inhibits the proliferation of cultured HMCs. Cordyceps militaris has a similar effect as cordyceps sinensis. The effect is possibly due to the indirect inhibition of DNA synthesis of HMCs by Cordyceps。关键词
