Trihalomethane formation of Macao water supply contaminated by seawater intrusion
摘要
Abstract
Laboratory experiments were carried out on Macao raw water to evaluate the effect of Br-brought about by seawater intrusion on the formation of trihalomethane (THM) in Macao drinking water. Results indicated that with seawater intrusion, which increases salinity and bromide ions in drinking water source, the bromine incorporated THM, total THMFP, and carcinogenic risk of treated water will increase considerably. In addition, conventional water treatment is not effective in removing dissolved organics in water and reducing the related THMFP and carcinogenic risk in treated water.关键词
