CORRELATION AND EXPRESSIONS OF P16 PRB AND CYCLIN D1 IN BLADDER CANCER

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the expression of cell cycle regulators p16,pRb and cyclin D1 in bladder cancer and the relationships among these three proteins.Methods:Immunohistochemistry methods were adopted to examine expressions of p16,pRb and cyclin D1 in 72 cases of bladder cancer and 12 cases of normal bladder tissues.Results:Lower expressions of p16 and pRb were found in bladder cancer than those in normal bladder tissues(P＜0.05), while both proteins expressions were closely associated, with tumor grade and stage(P＜0.05). Expression of cyclin D1 in bladder cancer was significantly higher than that in normal bladder tissues(P＜0.05),however, its expression was not significantly associated with tumor grade,stage and recurrence(P＞0.05). The total abnormal percentage of p16,pRb and cyclin D1 in bladder cancer was 97.2%, of which that co-abnormal percentage of two or three was 61.1% and tumor recurrent rate increased in those cases.There were negative relatonships expression between p16 and pRb, p16 and cyclin D1.Conclusions:The abnormality of P16-cyclin-Rb pathway is highly related to the pathogenesis of bladder cancer. Co-examining these three proteins are helpful for evaluation of biological behavior and prognosis of bladder cancer.关键词
