摘要

Abstract

New strains of autotetraploid tartary buckwheat have been obtained by doubling the cellular chromosomes of three varieties of tartary buckwheat from the southwest area of China. This is done by a mixing solution of colchicines and dimethyl sulfoxide.Compared with its parents, new autotetraploids show a well developed root system, thicker and stronger stalks, larger seeds, and in general heavier and taller plants. The protein, amino acids, vitamins content are notably increased. The new strains exhibit stable inheritance, higher Seed-bearing rate and resistance to adverse environmental elements.
