Abstract
Aim：To assess the changes and possible role of expression of EGFR in maxillary sinus carcinogenesis.Methods：Immunohistochemical LSAB.Results：The positivity rates of EGFR in maxillary sinus dysplasia and squamous cell carcinoma of the epithelia were significantly higher than those in normal and simple hyperplastic epithelia,and that of EGFR in squamous cell carcinoma was significantly higher than that in dysplasic epithelia (P＜0.05).The expressions of EGFR did not correlate with sex,age,and histologic grade (P＞0.05)，but significantly correlated with lymph node metastasis and the survival stage (3 a)(P＜0.05).Conclusion: The incresed expression of EGFR may play an important role in the process of carcinogenesis in mxillary sinus squamous cells and can be used as a useful marker for the assessment of biological behavior and prognosis of maxillary sinus squamous cell carcinoma.关键词
