摘要
Abstract
The objective of this experiment was to gather evidence f or production of nitric oxide(NO) during a primary infection with the protozoan p arasite,which carries out its life cycle in the ceca of chickens.Relationship of plasma level of nitrite(NO2),stable metabolites of NO,with parasite dose and with time after infection was examined. After feeding of starter feed for two w eek from one day old,78 Huangyu broilers were divided into 0(control),0.5×104,1. 0×1 04,2.0×104,3.0×104 and 4.0×104 oocys ts per chick(infective groups)to study the r elationship of plasma level of nitrite w ith the parasite dose.20 broilers were i n fected at the dose of 2.0×104 oocysts p er chick to study the relationship of pl asma level of nitrite with the time afte r Eimeria tenella infection.The result s showed that the level of NO2of infec tive groups was significantly higher tha n that of control group (P<0 .05).When in fective dose ranged from 0.5 to 3.0×104 o ocysts per chicken,level of NO2 incre ased in a stepwise manner with increasin g infective dose.In chicken infected wit h 2.0×104 oocysts,2.5×104oocysts,signi fi cant increase in plasma NO2 was seen after infection and reached the highest at 126 h or 118 h,the time when mucosal damage was serious and oocysts were bein g shed.The results of this experiment gi ve strong evidence that NO has a relatio nship with Eimeria tenella infection.关键词
