摘要

Abstract

A level set method is applied for simulating the formation process of single drops in an immiscible liquid or gas phase. The control volume formulation with the SIMPLE (semi-implicit method for pressure-linked equations) algorithm incorporated is used to solve the governing equations of incompressible two-phase laminar flow with deformable free interface on an axisymmetric staggered Eulerian grid. The shape of a drop growing at a capillary tip and the flow field inside are predicted, and reasonable agreement with the reported computed and experimental results is observed.
