Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship between the contents ofglucocorticoid receptors(GR) in multiple sclerosis(MS) patients and the efficacy of steroid therapy.Methods Radio-immunological method and radioligand combination were used to determine the contents of plasma cortisol(F) and the GR contents of blood corpuscles of 25 MS cases. Results No obvious difference was found between the F contents of plasma between the group of patients and the normal control group of normal subjects whereas the GR contents in the blood of the former with (8635±1432) sites/cell were significantly higher than those of the control group with (5320±540) sites/cell(P<0.01).18 patients with high-figure GR (9356±645) sites/cell prior to treatment showed better therapeutic effects than the 7 patients with low-figure GR (6176±385) sites/cell. Conclusions Better therapeutic effects can be achieved in cases of increased blood corpuscle GR of external factors and high GR contents.Those of low GR contents may be given hormotherapy with larger doses to enhance results.关键词
