The repair of old defects of rabbits' growth plates with grafts of cultured cartilage
摘要
Abstract
Objective To prevent occurrence of limb's deformities and reduce deformities by allografts of cultured cartilages into old growth plate defects. Method Chondrocytes isolated from rabbits aged lmonth formed cartilages after cultivation in centrifuge tubes. Defects formed in upper tibial growth plates of rabbits aged 6 weeks underwent the second operation 4-weeks later. The tissues within defects were resected and replaced by cartilages cultured for two weeks. Left tibial defects had no graft as control groups. Result Right tibiae had markedly less deformities than left ones at 4, 8, and 12 weeks after transfer of cultured cartilages. The deformities of left tibiae had developed.Bone bridges formed in defects of growth plates which were early closed. Conclusion Cultured cartilages may obviously reduce limb deformities by allograft into growth plate defects , but can't correct existent deformities.关键词
