Abstract
To study the effect of Angiotension converting enzyme inhibitorcaptopril on the arterial intimal hyperplasia after ballon injury was administered. Eighteen rabbits were divided into three groups at random; sham-operation (S) group, control(Con) group and captopril(cat) group (each group n=6). Captopril was given to 6 rabbits (10 mg/kg.d-1,po) from 2 days before the right carotid arteries were injured by 3.6 F ballon catheter to 14 days after injury. The control group (6 rabbits) underwent the same balloon injury but no medicine was administered. Results showed:1.Lever of plasma ET1 14 days after injury in Cat group was significantly lower than that of Con group; Con group was significantly higher than that of S Group(P＜0.01,respectively).2.Proliferation Index-PCNA:Con group and Cat group were both higher than that of S group(P＜0.01,respectively); Cat group was significantly lower than that of Con group(P＜0.01,respectively). 3.Mean thickness and extent of lumen stenosis:Cat group was significantly lower than Con group (P＜0.01).Conclusion:Captopril inhibits intimal thickening after ballon injury.关键词
