Abstract
Aim To explore the incidence of virusemia in childhood patientswith acute rotavirus(RV) infectious diarrhea.Methods Reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) was applied to detect RV in serum from 200 infants and young children with acute diarrhea（RV positive in stool confirmed by ELISA ）.Results (1)14 cases were serum RV positive at the first day of hospitalization, accompanied by obvious fever and symptoms of extra-intestinal organs damage. There was not significant difference between various age groups (P＞0.25).(2)73 patients were RV positive at the moment diarrhea disappeared.Conclusion RV virusemia may cause damage of extra-intestinal organs. The asymptomatic RV carrier after diarrhea disappearance could be one important source of infection.关键词
