Abstract
AIM:To evaluate the surgical treatment methods of giant cell tumors (GCT) of long bone in conjunction with inserted microwave antennas induced hyperthermia.METHODS:46 patients, included the surgical procedures,the oncology results,the functions of the limbs and the complications were analyzed.RESULTS:Follow up 3.5 to 9 years (mean 5.5 years).All patients were evaluated according to oncological and orthopaedic criteria.Two tumors were recurred.Orthopaedic function were perfect in 44 patients and were fair in 2.Infection was found in 2 patients.CONCLUSION:The surgical procedure to treat the giant cell tumors of long bone by inserted microwave antennas induced hyperthermia is a definitive surgical method which is safe and confident.关键词
