Present Status and Prospect ofMolecular Breeding for Cotton Fiber Qualities
摘要
Abstract
Cotton fiber is an important raw mate-rial for industry. As people want better cloth-ing, and weaving and knitting factories use high-er speed equipment, good fiber quality is need-ed. In addition to use conventional breedingmethod, molecular breeding strategy is also ex-tensively used to improve fiber qualities in the world. In the present review, transgenic strate-gy using both cotton fiber development genesand foreign genes, and molecular marker assist-ed selection to improve cotton fiber qualitieswere presented. Some breeding strategies to im-prove fiber quality are suggested based on pre-sent status of fiber quality and production condi-tion in China.关键词
