Abstract
Objective:To study the expression of cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2) and relationship with biological behavior of bladder cancer and its clinical significance.Methods:The immunohistochemical SABC method was used to determine the expression of COX-2 in 54 cases of bladder cancer, 29 cases of adjacent nontumorous and 10 cases of normal bladder specimens respectively.Results:The positive expression of COX-2 showed significant difference in different tissues of bladder (P＜0.05), and was significantly higher in the cancer tissue.The intensity of COX-2 expression was increased with increasing pathological grades of tumor and clinical stage(P＜0.05, P＜0.01).There was significant correlation between the lymph node metastasis and expression of COX-2 of bladder carcinoma (P＜0.05).Conclusions:The expression of COX-2 is related to the pathological grades, clinical stage, the lymph node metastasis of tumor. This result suggests that cyclooxygenase-2 may be play a role in the development and growth of bladder cancer, the inhibition of cyclooxygenase-2 development may give a new treatment for bladder cancer.关键词
