Prognostic evaluation of PCNA and BCL-2 expression in colorectal carcinoma

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the prognostic evaluation of PCNA and BCL - 2 expression in patients with colorectal carcinoma. Methods: Utilizing sABC Immunohistochemical methods, PCNA and BCL- 2 expression of specimens from patients with colorectal carcinoma during a three- year follow- up were analyzed. Results: PCNA and BCL - 2 expression was negative in normal colorectal mucossae but positive in colorectal carcinoma. PCNA demonstrated a positive correlation (P＜ 0.05) with the recurrence and death time of patient, tumor stage and lymphatic metastasis, but a negative correlation with patient's age, gender and tumor location. BCL-2 only shared a highly positive correlation ( P ＜ 0.05) with tumor stage and no obvious correlation (P ＞ 0.05) with such factors as recurrence time, death time, age, gender and tumor location. Conclusions:PCNA and BCL - 2 expression analysis is of important value in clinical treatment and prognostic evaluation of colorectal carcinoma.关键词
