Abstract
Objective Using the modified DEXA method to measure the bone mineral density (BMD)around the stem of the femora and to understand its regularity and clinical significance. Methods Twelve fresh cadaver femurs were studied, the modified DEXA is used to measure BMD of the upper part of the femurs before and after the stem were inserted. Results With the modified DEXA method, the interference of the mineral stems was removed and a quantitative analysis could be made. BMD distribution of the upper part of femora was similar before and after implantation of a prosthesis. Conclusion The modified DEXA is a precise method to measure BMD around femoral implants.关键词
