Salters Innominate Osteotomy in the Treatment of Congenital Dislocation of the Hip

Abstract
Objective:To review the results of the surgical treatment in 7patients(8 hips)with congenital dislocation of the hips.Methods:Salters innominate osteotomy was performed with preoperative intermittent manual traction,L-shaped incision and overlapped sutures of the joint capsule during the operation,and the modified Batchlors plaster of Paris as an extermal fixation.Results:After 8 months to 2 years and 5 monthss follow-up,the excellent and good rate was 7/8 within the half a year postoperatively,whereas the rate reached to 8/8 thereafter.Conclusion:It is different from the classic Salters osteotomy in the following aspects:preoperative intermittent manual traction,L-shaped incision and overlapped sutures of the joint capsule during the operation,and the modified Batchlors plaster of Paris as an external fixation after the operation.关键词
