Abstract
Spherical nanopowder of cerium doped yttrium aluminum garnet(YAG:Ce3+)was prepared by the microemulsion method in a water/Triton X-100/hexanol/(cyclohcxan+n-hexane)system.Aluminum(Al),yttrium(Y)and cerium(Ce)chloride and nitrates were used as starting materials,and ammonia was used as a precipitating agent.The YAG:Ce3+ nanopowder was prepared successfully.Experimental results indicate that the pure YAG phase is synthesized at the temperature of 800℃,which is lower than that by solid-state method(over 1 500℃).The properties of the YAG:Ce3+ nanopowder was characterized by thermogravimetric-differential scanning calorimetry,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,X-ray diffractometer,transmission electron microscope,and photoluminescence spectroscopy.The results show that the YAG:Ce3+ nanopowder consist of fairly uniform,spherical particles.The particle size is distributed uniformly at 50nm.The excitation spectra show two peaks,with the major one at 469nm.The emission spectra peak is at 532 nm,indicating that phosphor is qualified for use in white light emitting diode关键词
