COMPARATIVE STUDY ON DEGRADATION OF HEMOGLOBINS IN MOUSE AND MICROTUS FORTIS BY SCHISTOSOMA JAPONICUM DIGESTING PROTEINASES

Abstract
AIM To explore mechanisms of Schistosoma japonicum(Sj) underdevelopment and eventual death in Microtus fortis (Mf) in terms of host hemoglobin(Hb)digestion. METHOD The vomitus of Sj was induced and collected in dis tilled water. Mouse and Mf Hb were digested in vitro with Sj vomitus. The results of Hb degradation were examined by SDS -PAGE. RESULTS Sj digestive proteinases could degrade Mf Hb effectively. There was no obvious difference in degradation between Mf Hb and mouse Hb. CONCLUSION Sj does not develop normally in Mf may probably not be related to the digestionof Mf Hb.关键词
